Regulations

The films are viewed and selected by our Selection Committee which then decides on the general film programming. The films will be screened as part of our international competitions (Feature Doc and Short), or as special screenings out of competition. Cinema retrospectives are organised alongside international competitions and out of competition screenings. The programme of the festival will be published with distinction between films in competition, out of competion and retrospectives.

Film are to be submitted for reviewing within the deadline and at the address stated on our web-site, and need to be sent in either DVD or VHS, in original language with either English, Italian, French or Spanish subtitles (when this or Italian is not the original language). Films might be invited by the festival directly. If the film is selected as part of the festival programme, the festival will write to the film director, producer or distributor inviting the film to participate to the festival. Once the film director, producer or distributor authorise for screening the film at the festival, it is not possible for the film to be withdrawn from the festival, unless notification is given at least 40 days before the screening.

The festival expects to receive film synopsis, film-maker biography, stills of the film and any other material needed for promotional purposes in time for the preparation of programme and catalogue. The festival expect to receive a good version of the film for screening (35mm, DVD, Beta SP) within the time set for the programming and film shipping requirements. When available, film dialogue lists in English or French (and exceptional cases Spanish) are to be send to the festival for translation purposes.

The festival, being a low budget event, is not able to invite film-makers a part from exceptional occasions, but is very happy and honoured if any concerned with the making or production of the festival would like to be present at the screenings. When possible, we might be able to provide accomodation for the night of the screenings.
